Why The Rec Room

Their first real sport.

Little Athletes is where 3–4 year olds get their first taste of real sport-style movement. This isn’t free play—it’s structured, coach-led training designed to build the athletic foundation every kid needs.

Each session introduces running mechanics, jumping technique, throwing and catching fundamentals, and age-appropriate obstacle-course patterns. Kids learn how to listen to a coach, wait their turn, and follow multi-step instructions—all while having a blast.

The pace is fast and the energy is high, but every challenge is scaled so your child feels successful. It’s the perfect bridge between toddler play and real athletic development.

Common Questions

Everything you need
to know.

Yes! Little Athletes is specifically designed for 3–4 year olds. Our coaches are trained in early childhood movement and every activity is scaled to this age group. If your child can walk, run, and follow simple directions, they’re ready.
Parents are welcome to watch from our comfortable viewing area. For the first class or two, coaches may invite a parent onto the floor to help a child transition. Most kids separate confidently within their first few sessions.
Comfortable clothes they can move in and supportive sneakers (no sandals or Crocs). We provide water bottles, but feel free to bring their own. No special equipment needed. Please label everything!

Tiny Movers (ages 2–4) is parent-assisted and focuses on sensory play and basic movement exploration. Little Athletes is coach-led with no parent on the floor—it’s a real introduction to sport-style training with running, throwing, catching, and obstacle courses.

Totally normal, especially in the first few sessions. Our coaches are experienced with this age group and know how to gently engage reluctant kids. We never force participation—we make the activities so fun that kids want to join in on their own.

We recommend it but don’t require it. If your child is still in pull-ups, just let the front desk know. Our facility has easy-access restrooms and coaches are happy to accommodate bathroom breaks mid-class.
